Jenn
Designing Jenn’s dress was a really special one, a lovely journey I won’t be forgetting anytime soon!
I met Jenn when she was working at some of the Save the Date Events that I was exhibiting my dresses at and was so excited when she got in touch with me once they had their wedding date sorted. When we first discussed her dress we had a bit of an idea of the type of thing she would like, however on one of the first calls we had she explained that her dress journey may not be as simple as envisioned; she had just started her third round of IVF and so I knew I would be designing a dress that could possibly (hopefully!) fit a 20week growing bump! I felt so honoured that Jenn shared this part of her journey with me, it made the whole experience extra special and we all shed some happy tears at her appointment when she was able to tell us she was pregnant!
Having tried on pieces from my collection at my studio we started to play around with silhouettes and lace and piece together Jenn’s one of a kind dress. Based on the Rowan silhouette from my core collection we added a super low back and delicate rouleaux straps. It featured a beautiful V neck and was a bias cut sillhouette which allowed room for her gorgeous bump to grow whilst still hugging her figure softly. Jenn didn’t want to go down the Ivory route so we looked at some gorgeous samples and settled on a stunning soft golden heavy silk to hang beautifully. Her finished gown had a beautiful train and a button and loop fastening at the centre back in the same silk. We added a delicate lace trim around the V neck and low back and added wide scalloped lace off the shoulder sleeves as a nod to Jenns love of lace.
Jenn and Stu had their wedding celebration in her mums beautiful garden and it looked like the most joyous of occasions where they could celebrate their happy news of little Erin being a part of the ceremony from Jenn’s tummy!
