Samantha

Samantha knew she never wanted a ‘typical wedding dress’ and having been talked into going to local wedding dress shops to try on numerous different dresses with her Mum and Sister, it was confirmed that a shop bought dress wouldn’t be for her. She thought about going down the route of getting her dress made and so got in touch, we met for an initial consultation and Samantha came armed with a scrap book filled with sketches, pictures and numerous website links and after a few sketches the journey to her amazing dress began.

Samantha had a few ideas of what she wanted, a big swishy train, tulle waistband and also wanted to show off her fantastic Vivienne Westwood shoes! In the end she had a gorgeous silk tulle skirt with a high-low hem that showed off her shoes, and a beautiful French lace bodice with lovely scalloped back detail and a pure silk satin slip which was worn underneath with delicate spaghetti straps. I also created a beautiful bespoke veil to compliment Samantha's dress, this was in the same tulle as her skirt and was the length of her train, this was paired with a beautiful bespoke bow created in the lace from her dress, it finished her outfit perfectly.

"I love the fact that my wedding dress was made just for me by someone who knows my styles and it was exactly how I wanted it with so many personal touches which I LOVED.

My Gran gave me the top half of her wedding dress (my something old) which was mainly lace, Susie created a heart out of the lace which was stitched onto my train with our wedding date embroidered in blue thread at the side, my Mum had done some investigation work and got James to find my good luck gold cat my Nannan gave me when I was 7, which was then placed in a pocket within the liner with the words stamped “for a little bit of luck”…. as you can imagine tears fell as started as soon as I saw this!"
